Gear Patrol
We created a series of illustrations for Gear Patrol to highlight all the unique and exciting places people can visit in Western North Carolina. States in the region have been hard hit by the effects of flooding brought on by climate change, but visiting these places and supporting them helps them stay resilient.

Using bold colors and exaggerated shapes, we aimed to evoke a feeling that was confident, authentic, and wholesome, but also pulled from the festive nature of Filipino-American culture.

Map of Western North Carolina
The lede artwork needed to evoke boardgame box art—something dynamic and also telling what’s inside. For this scene, we designed the game board atop a football stadium. The panoramic warping of the horizon adds a dramatic effect.
