Discovery Cube: Composting
With campuses in both Los Angeles and Orange County, the Discovery Cube is a children’s science museum with hundreds of hands-on exhibits and educational programs. Recently, the Discovery Cube reached out to us to illustrate and animate a short video for their Organics Waste Lab. The video highlights the tiny, hidden creatures who play a crucial role in the decomposition of organic waste, and how they help create a greener world.

The Discovery Cube team wanted a video that was delightful, magical, and educational for young viewers. We created an art style that used simple shapes and a bold, earthy color palette. We overlaid textures to provide a grittier look.
Process
We always begin our animation process by reviewing our client’s script and assessing their visual needs and requirements. The next step involves sketching storyboards so that our client can know what to expect for each scene regarding content and composition.
